Paris Paralympics 2024: Know India’s medal tally and full list of winners

Paris Paralympics 2024: Indian para-athletes have been showing spectacular performances at the Paris Paralympics 2024. Today on the eleventh day, all eyes are on one event- para canoe- where Pooja Ojha will be seen competing in Women’s Singles Kayak 200m KL1 semifinals.

India has secured seven gold medals so far with the latest coming in from men's javelin F41 event. The country is now ranked 15th in the Paralympics medal's tally among the participating nations with seven gold, nine silver and thirteen bronze.

The latest victory on day 10 of Games of the Paralympiad came after javelin thrower from Haryana's Panipat, Navdeep Singh, secured an unparalleled gold in the F41 classification. 

Additionally, visually impaired sprinter Simran won bronze in the women's 200m (T12) bronze on September 7. following the victory, Navdeep, who hails from the same home town as the two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra, said, "When Neeraj bhai broke the junior world record, I thought, he is also from our town and I could also do it," reported PTI.

Guide Abhay Singh accompanied para-athlete Simran, with whose support she managed to clock in personal best of 24.75sec and finished the race with a bronze medal. The 24-year-old visually impaired athlete from Delhi had finished fourth in the 100m competition.

At the ongoing international multi-sport event, where athletes with physical disabilities are competing against each other, Indian managed to secure a total of 29 medals, as per latest figures from Saturday's events. Additionally, multiple medals are set to be awarded in athletics today. 

India won gold, following victory in para-badminton, where shuttler Nitesh defeated Great Britain's second-seed, Daniel Bethell, to secure the top spot in the men's singles SL3 category. Harvinder Singh made history by earning the country’s first gold in archery. In a historic 1-2 podium finish, Dharambir bagged gold and Pranav Soorma secured silver in men's club throw event.

India is currently at the 15th position in the Paralympics medal's tally with seven gold, nine silver and thirteen bronze. Meanwhile China is leading with a whopping 208 medals, including 90 gold.

The Summer Paralympics featured 549 events across 22 sports this year and as per schedule Indian athletes will be in action in para canoe on the final day. The 17th edition of the Paris Paralympics is set to conclude today which began on August 28.
